Chiclana is the economic hub of the area and although not the
most picturesque town in Spain it does have a few things going for
it. First, it has a very attractive beach area on the outskirts
known as La Barrosa. Second, just a few minutes from the beach
there are four 18 holes golf courses and in the other direction
is the marina at Sancti Petri. And finally, it is where our offices
are situated! So in between sunbathing, golfing and sailing come in
and see our range of properties. Fancy a villa in Chiclana? A
townhouse in Conil? A finca in Alcala? The chances are we can find
the right property for you.
A short drive north takes you to Jerez, the home of Sherry and
many bodegas where you can enjoy a guided tour and sample the
product! Like many other towns and cities Jerez has big festivals,
especially the May horse fair, perhaps the most refined of the
Andalusian ferias.
A few miles to the south lies the charming old fishing village of
Conil, with its huge sandy beach stretching

for miles either side of the town. This ideal family beach
shelves gently to the Atlantic ocean, suprisingly calm considering
the distance to the next landfall.
A few miles on from Conil lies Vejer de la Frontera, a classic,
Moorish white town dramatically perched on a hillside overlooking
the bay of Trafalgar. Virtually unchanged over the years a wander
round its somewhat hilly streets will take you back in time to its
Moorish roots.
Across the Bay of Cadiz lie the towns of Puerto de Santa Maria, Rota, Chipiona and Sanlucar. El Puerto is an attractive town with some beautiful old houses while the other three may lack some of the history of El Puerto but they all have great beaches.
Inland there are beautiful white villages like Arcos, Medina
Sidonia, Alcala de los Gazules, etc. where you can combine village
life with beautiful landscapes. The area offers a combination of
great views, good walking country, very attractive property prices,
and great potential for anyone thinking of setting up a rural
tourism venture.
